![]() ![]() Like any family campground, there are children present. One thing I need to make clear: Bare Oaks is a family park, not a party zone. There are a lot of couples, many families, and quite a few single people. There are people of all ages, about the same amount of men and women. When you walk around, you can see people tanning, reading, barbecuing, socializing, swimming, walking the dog – and just about anything else you see in any campground. Some people come up for the day, some can stay for weeks, and some live there permanently. Inside the park there is a pool, a volleyball court, a restaurant called “Bare Bistro,” camping grounds for rent, a variety store, a pond to jump in, a garden and a trailer community. You quickly learn that clothing is only used as a tool. Many of the park’s visitors love to swim and said repeatedly they couldn’t understand how anyone would want to wear a wet soggy bathing suit while swimming. In that time I noticed that people embraced nature in a way that most of us just can’t.įor instance, many embraced jogging or daily hikes, relishing in the gentle breezes of the woods. I was lucky enough to be given access to this campground for several days. Even the workers at the front desk when you arrive are naked. It is hard to trust someone who is wearing clothing among a group of people who are willing to bare it all. In other words, this was not a clothing optional campground - if you are uncomfortable being nude, you will be asked to leave. Inside the naturist community at Bare Oaks, clothing is only used for protection, whether it be from the cold or from work that might injure your body, but most of the time you would never see a naturist in clothing unless they left the park and went into the general public. The International Federation of Naturism defines the term as “a way of life in harmony with nature, characterized by the practice of communal nudity, with the intention of encouraging respect for oneself, respect for others and respect for the environment.” But somehow, they missed a 2005 burglary charge, along with two other charges - one for drug possession, another for hitting a public servant came after he was hired. Most people might be familiar with the ideas of naturism or nudism. Though Texas law does not require it, a Better Tripp moving company spokesperson said they did do a criminal background check on Summers. West U police are making an appeal for other possible victims to come forward. "Anytime something like this goes on, you'd have to be wonder if this is the first time or not," Clark said. Summers, she says, was one of their most popular members he had been in thousands of homes. If it is true, he deserves to be prosecuted to the fullest." It's not anything we had ever, ever suspected. Officer Phil Clark said.Īt the time, Summers worked for a Better Tripp Moving and Storage company in northwest Houston, where his father had been the longtime operations manager and where he had been for six years until he abruptly quit in April.Īn office manager declined an on-camera interview but told us, "We're all shocked and appalled. "There were two digital videos actually that were taken, not simply photos, but actually videotape of the event," West U. When police arrested Summers, they say they found the evidence. It's said to have happened in an upstairs bedroom in front of the girl's seven-year-old brother. Last March, he was invited into her family's new home in West U, where according to police, he lifted up the five-year-old's skirt, touched her and even recorded it on his cell phone. ![]() It was during a time of transition to a new state, this new neighborhood, that West University Place police say Summers, using his job as a mover, victimized a little girl. ![]() Police here say he assaulted a little girl in her new home and even recorded it. Now 24-year-old Justin Summers is in jail, charged with indecency with a child and promotion of child pornography. ![]() What happened inside a West U home is a reminder not to be too trusting of strangers you have working in your home. ![]()
